Modern agriculture demands real-time data and documentation right where the work happens. Gone are the days of returning to the office just to print a label or a receipt. Many farmers are already using a wide variety of farm management apps to document their farm activities and ensure traceability and food and work safety. Combined with mobile printers growers can get an extremely practical way of empowering field teams to generate essential records, receipts, and labels directly on-site, saving time and boosting productivity.
Lakeshore Veggie Growers Inc, (LVG) located in Leamington on the shores of Lake Erie, is a family run business specializing in greenhouse grown, flavourful, heirloom tomatoes. Officially incorporated in 2008, Lakeshore Veggies has scaled up from three to 18 acres by acquiring surrounding farms as they become available. They now operate three main greenhouse and packing facilities, supplying various local national marketers in Leamington. This expansion has brought on a greater need for fast paced inventory management and food safety systems, leading LVG to seek out Croptracker’s farm inventory traceability features.
Healthy soil is not merely dirt; it is the living foundation upon which all productive and sustainable agriculture is built. Without vibrant, well-managed soil, crop yields suffer, and environmental challenges mount, impacting the very viability of farming operations. Soil degradation manifests in critical issues such as acidification, nutrient imbalances, heightened soil compaction, and salinization – diminishing nutrient levels and compromising long-term soil productivity and sustainability.
