This summer at Croptracker, our dev team has been hard at work implementing new features to help our customers get more value from their Croptracker accounts. This article is a round-up of some of the features launched in June, July, and August with a bit of a look ahead at the features coming this fall. For current Croptracker customers, please remember to update your app (Android and iOS) to access new software upgrades. If there is anything that you would like to learn more about for your workflow, feel free to email support@croptracker.com with questions or book a demo with us to learn more.
General
- Map drawing accuracy updates:
- Now when you are using Croptracker’s polygon mapping tool, the length and width will display as you map. This helps ensure growing area boundaries are accurate and can match surveyed information exactly.
- Report export column filtering with copy:
- With our data tables update this spring, we have enabled a feature to limit report columns before exporting the data. Now when columns are limited in Croptracker and Copied, the hidden columns will remain hidden. This helps our users speed up data cleanup when sending information elsewhere.
- New growing area bulk selection preference:
- While working with a large grower with heavy crop rotation and a large variation in the varieties they are growing, our dev team developed a quicker and more filterable growing area selection preference. This selector allows for filtering growing areas by farm, row, crop type, growing area size, planting date and estimated harvest date.
- Farm growing area tag scanning to select growing area on app:
- To speed up the process of selecting growing areas, we have released an option to print a QR code for each growing area in your account that can be scanned using the phone camera to select the area for any Croptracker event. Some of our users are using these codes to label rows in the field so there is no guesswork when specifying the area.
API
- API speed performance update:
- For our users who pull in HQV scan data through an API integration, we have released a significant speed boost this summer to ensure there is less delay to be able to take action on this valuable inventory data.
- API planting and replanting endpoints:
- To better support our customer with large growing areas and frequent crop rotations, Croptracker has released new endpoints and documentation to support growing area additions and update with the API.
- New Spray API endpoints and documentation updates:
- Spray module API integration has improved over the summer with new reporting endpoint and documentation updates to make pulling Spray event data from Croptracker smoother.
- Registered chemical additions and maintenance in USA and Canada and New Zealand lists:
- As part of our regular maintenance for the Spray module, our support staff have added newly registered chemicals, and updated REI/PHI times and supported crop types on existing chemicals throughout the season.
- New equipment type updates to better support irrigation:
- Updates have been made to the irrigation equipment to specify the power source and link pumps to irrigation events and growing areas more closely. Additionally, irrigation equipment is closer tied to irrigation events for more accurate cost calculation.
- Beta Irrigation app launch:
- Select RnD customers have early access to our mobile irrigation app for further development feedback and testing.
- Piece rate bulk adjust:
- From the ‘Pieces’ page on the browser app, Punch Clock Admin users are now able to edit and bulk adjust the rate of pieces made in the field.
- New reports - Exception Report: Worklogs Under Minimum Minutes and Exception Report: Worklogs Over Max Hours:
- To better support our customers with many contracted and H2A workers, we released two reports that quickly flags worklogs that are too short or two long, prompting reviewing and potentially correcting misentered worklogs.
- Report update - Daily Piece Work Report:
- A new column has been added to display the name of the piece rate.
- Report update - Activity Time Sheet Report:
- In addition to displaying the total working hours per employee, this report will now also display the time taken by each employee on each activity tied to their worklogs. This helps users get a better understanding of the cost of specific activities and the productivity of their employees.
- Beta Employee Performance Review released to select RnD partners:
- In consultation with long-time punch clock users, Croptracker has developed a module for documenting employee performance issues from the mobile app. This module will attach performance information to worklogs making it easier to assess performance improvement over time and to make decisions about rehiring and retention.
- Punch Clock Kiosk:
- This season saw the launch of the Kiosk only mode for Punch Clock allowing for greater security and quick and easy time clocking. See our use case article here for more information.
- Punch Clock non-working hours / leave time workflow and reporting:
- Another feature released this season is a workflow and reporting tools to record and assess non working hours for employees, both paid and unpaid leave time. For more information on this workflow and feature, see our use case article here.
- Harvest tag continuous scanning:
- To boost the speed of users who are scanning many harvest tags at one time, there is a new preference in the harvest module called ‘Bulk Scan’. It will enable continuous tag scanning without having to press the ‘Add Input’ button in between.
- Production Practice app activity filter:
- A small usability update was released for the Production Practice module to allow for shortlisting events based on activity. This can help edit or add additional worklogs to existing events.
- Shipping offline full roll out:
- This summer, our new offline Shipping module was promoted out of beta and has feature parity with our previous online version.
- Split pallets on the shipping app:
- New feature enabled in shipping to allow for pallet splitting on the go in the mobile app.
- Shipping Waybill updates and additions:
- Several improvements have been made to the shipping waybill this season including the addition of raw material pricing and origin and the barcodes of inventory or pallets added to the shipment for easy scanning at receiving on the other end. The pack lot for pallets added to the shipping event is also included to further centralize information and pass on relevant Traceability Lot Codes required under the increased food safety reporting needs under FSMA-204.
- Beta Outstanding Bin Inventory feature transfer update:
- Croptracker’s Outstanding Bin Inventory feature that is currently released in beta to select RnD partners. This summer it was updated to support transferring bins between suppliers. This feature helps growers with reusable harvest containers maintain records of where bins are to ensure there are enough containers to support harvest at various growing locations and make sure bins are not lost or stolen throughout the season.
- Receiving and Order Desk link to support transactions on raw inventory:
- To better support our growers who receive unpacked inventory for processing, transactions can include raw harvested inventory. This helps them better track the costs of materials used in their packing and processing.
- Receiving Traceability report released:
- A new mock recall report was released this season that supports tracking inventory from the Receiving event Traceability Lot Code. To learn more about this traceability report and workflow see our use case article here.
- New supported crop types in Crop Load Vision:
- Tomatoes, Apricots and Pears have been added this season to our supported crop types for on plant scanning with CLV.
- New export options and filtering available on CLV size and count chart reports:
- New data tables have been added to both the Crop Load Vision Fruit Size Over Time by Block Report and to the Crop Load Vision Fruit Count Over Time by Block Report so that chart data can be exported in table format. Additionally, more filters have been added including growing area filters to better limit results and organize crop yield estimation processes.
- Packing offline full roll out:
- This summer, our new offline Packing module was promoted out of beta and has feature parity with our previous online version.
Field Pack
- Multi product pallets enabled in Field Pack:
- To better support our growers who pack multiple product styles in the field, pallets can now contain multiple different products in the Field Pack module.
- Master moving and deleting on the app in Field Pack:
- To help speed up error correction and on the fly pallet creation and spitting, master tags assigned to a pallet already can now be moved to another pallet or deleted from the app.
- Storage Room Report column additions:
