Heading into the summer months, Croptracker is releasing a round up of our spring Software Updates. Below we have outlined the changes and improvements affecting our users since March 2025.
General
- Replanting on the Field Map:
- Shape files are now copied over when a block is replanted and can be edited if the borders have changed after replanting.
- API behaviour update:
- Archived inventory will not appear by default.
Spray
- New Supported Crop Growth Stages:
- As new users have started using our spray program, we have added more specific growth stages for their crops including Asparagus, Corn, Soybeans, and Wheat.
- Offline Spray Advancements:
- Existing spray features are being added to our Offline Spray module in preparation for launch. Spray Applicators + License, Sprayer Calibration Date, Method of Application, Responsible Person + License, Chemical Lot Number, Spray Nozzles, Safety Equipment, Weather, Growth Stages, Spray Reasons, Pests, and Spray Copy features have all been added this spring.
- Removing Chemical from Spray Event:
- We have added a helpful button to remove a chemical added to a Spray event.
- Spray Event Title:
- You can now add a spray event title on the Croptracker mobile app. Previously this field was only available on the web browser.
Harvest
- New Asparagus Harvest Workflow:
- Our support staff has worked with our customers this season to iron out a Harvest workflow for asparagus growers. This harvest season will see several Croptracker customers testing this in production. Get in touch with support@croptracker.com to learn more about this workflow and how it could help in your next Asparagus harvest.
Punch Clock
- Employee Badge Scan Select:
- Speeding up our manual mobile punch in workflows, we have enabled badge scanning on the employee select screen on the mobile app. This allows for quick employee selection like the Punch Clock Kiosk, but maintains the option to add more activity and location details.
- Barcode Scanner App Feedback:
- When using a barcode scanner for reading employee badges, users will now have both vibration and audio feedback on the phone when the badge has been recognized. This feature results in faster multiple badge scanning, especially in the field when seeing the mobile screen is made difficult due to bright sunlight.
Packing
- End Date on Packing Events:
- Users are now able to enter both a Start and End Date for Packing events. This helps support our users who are packing overnight or over multiple days and with our users who run many packs in a single day.
- Mock Recall Report by Pack Lot Filter Update:
- You can now search for both Packing and Processing type lot codes in this report. Previously you could only use a Packing event made lot code.
- Processing step added to support customer brining products:
- To better support our users who are logging their brining processes in Croptracker, we have added a ‘Kill’ and ‘No Kill’ processing options. This supports traceability and food safety record keeping especially when shipping products the customer will have to further process before selling to customers.
- Aged Packed Product Report:
- Will by default now show only available inventory. Previous this report was driven by a date range filter that would impact what inventory was marked available. Now it will only display what inventory is available at the time of report running without adjusting filters.
- This report now also has columns to display the Site and Room the inventory is in – making it easier to organize orders and locate inventory in disparate storage locations.
Field Pack
- Offline Field Pack Harvest Launch:
- This spring saw the release of our Offline Field Pack module, in time for strawberry harvest this season. The Croptracker Knowledge Base has been updated to reflect the changes in improving the workflow documentation. Get in touch with support@croptracker.com
- Barcode Scanner App Feedback:
- When using a barcode scanner for reading employee badges and master tags, users will now have both vibration and audio feedback on the phone when the badge has been recognized. This feature results in faster multiple badge scanning, especially in the field when seeing the mobile screen is made difficult due to bright sunlight.
Receiving
- Harvest Classes added to Receiving:
- Users with the Receiving module can now assign Harvest Classes to inventory. This is a flexible attribute that users often employ to denote quality classifications or harvest type information eg. First-Pick or Strip-Pick.
- Transaction Reference Number:
- When creating a Receiving Event from a Transaction now passes through the transaction number to the event automatically, speeding up data entry and eliminating errors.
- Mobile App Feature Expansion:
- Pallets are now displayed in receiving lanes and on the Receiving Event summary when received on the mobile app. Previously this was only available on the browser.
- Users can now create, load, and unload pallets in Receiving events on the mobile app.
- Individual Pallet Location on the Browser:
- Users can now set a pallet’s location for each pallet in a Receiving event on the web. Previously this was only available on the app.
Shipping / Order Desk
- Mock Recall Report Info Additions:
- Customer information now displays on Pallet details on the Mock Recall Report. This makes it quicker to determine the exact Pallet destination from one screen.
- Missing Transaction Warning in Shipping:
- Users will now see a warning when adding inventory to a shipping event and not attaching it to a Transaction. This helps ensure inventory is logged against the right customer, BOL and Shipping summary.
- The Transaction number will now also display on the Shipping event summary along with the customer.
- Transaction List on App Update:
- Customer details are now displayed on the list of Transactions on the web, making it easier to select the right Transaction quickly.
Quality Control
- Inspection PDF Summaries Display Images:
- When using a photo spec type, images will now display and print on the PDF inspection summary.
Harvest Quality Vision
- Auto White Balance:
- A new preference feature has been added to Harvest Quality Vision to boost the color capture accuracy when lighting in the scanning environment varies. This preference prompts the scanner to allow the camera to adjust to the environment before locking in the white balance for the scan to start.
