In planning for 2020, Croptracker has made a wish list of the top agriculture conferences and trade shows we would like to go to. We thought you might like to see this list too. These 10 events span a wide range of agricultural markets and industries from around the world, so chances are you will find an event for you. This list is in chronological order.

1. PrecisionAg® VISION Conference

The first conference of the new year that peaked our interest is The VISION Conference. Hosted by PrecisionAg publication, this conference focuses on precision agriculture and digital farming technologies. This event promises to be a great networking opportunity for those in the agriculture technology industry. There are a variety of speakers and roundtable discussions on a wide range of topics, including Teddy Bekele, Chief Technology Officer for Land O’Lakes Inc., that should appeal to growers of any type. New precision and digital agriculture innovations will be on display, including a tour of the Chateau Ste. Michelle winery to see the latest in precision agtech in practice. 2. Fruit Logistica

Fruit Logistica

With well over 3000 exhibitors and 78,000 visitors, Fruit Logistica is one of the largest industry events in the world. This event is a must attend for those in the international fresh produce industry. Exhibits cover every sector of the industry from growers, packers and processors, to technology and software developers. This year’s presentations and events are split over several different stages/areas including The Fresh Produce Forum, The Logistics Hub, The Tech Stage, The Future Lab and more. There will also be networking events and areas for women in the industry, people looking for employment opportunities and for start-ups. As in years before, Fruit Logistica promises to be a valuable opportunity for anyone in the fresh produce industry.

3. Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention

We can cross this one off our wishlist because Croptracker will be at this convention! This will be our fourth year in attendance and the conference’s 18th year running. OFVC features exhibitors, speakers, and attendees from all areas of the produce sector, including growers, processors, industry experts and consultants, researchers, and technology innovators. This year's show features brewing and cider making competitions, and a huge variety of over 70 different speakers. There will also be several networking and information sessions with one focused on women in the industry, another for young agrarians and one hosted by the Ontario Berry Grower’s Association. We are very much looking forward to exhibiting Croptracker at this convention and hope to see some of you there. Come say ‘Hi’ at booths 1022 & 1024!

4. The New York Farm Show

New York Farm Show

The New York Farm show has happened annually since 1985 and this year it expects to host more than 400 exhibitors. With over 30 years of experience, the organizers of this show attract the biggest names in farm equipment and technology, seed and crop production, and protection and farm services. This huge show takes place in 6 large buildings and includes outdoor demonstration areas. The event is open to the public and attracts a large number of farmers and growers from all over North America. It’s a broad reaching show with representation from every area of the agricultural sector from small indoor horticulture operations to large scale dairy farms. 5. AgraME

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

March 3 - 5, 2020

Agra Middle East

The AgreME trade show in Dubai is one of the biggest in the world. It is a must attend event for growers and other industry members who want to work with Middle Eastern and African Agriculture Markets. The show has several sections: Animal Farming and Veterinary, Aquaculture, Agratech, and Crop Farming. There are huge opportunities at this event for exhibitors and attendees from all over the world to connect with relevant contacts in their field and to view the latest in agriculture technology. Their website features many videos of past events that highlight how successful past years have been, making the upcoming convention look very exciting.

6. Indoor Ag-Con

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

May 18 - 20, 2020

Indoor AgCon

Indoor Ag-Con is one of the foremost events on indoor agriculture in the word. In the past few years, the indoor agricultural industry has been growing at an unprecedented rate, making this a must attend event for anyone looking to break into indoor agriculture or for veteraen indoor growers. The latest in hydroponic, aeroponic, and aquaponic technology will be on display. Industry leaders from all over the world have attended past events and even more are expected to attend this year. There are formal speakers, informal discussions, practical workshops and networking events planned. We are particularly excited about a keynote speaker, Sonia Lo,. Sonia is the CEO of CropOne Holdings LLC, a company operating some of the world’s largest and more innovative indoor farms. 7. Forbes 2020 Agtech Summit

Salinas, California, USA

June 24 - 25, 2020

Forbes Agtech Summit

2020 will be the third year of the Forbes Agtech Summit that has met in Salinas California. The location makes this conference all the more interesting - Salinas, sometimes known as “The Salad Bowl of the World” is a major industry hub for both agriculture and technology. This year’s theme has not yet been announced. Last year, the theme was ‘The Future of Food’ and brought together over 600 entrepreneurs, growers, and innovators from across the industry to talk about the future of food technologies. There is space for technology demonstrations, though the focus of the event is on discussion and networking to advance the conversations around food technologies. 8. Guangzhou Fruit Expo 2020

July 16 - 18, 2020

Guangzhou Fruit Expo

This giant fruit expo is a must attend event for producers, exporters and retailers in the produce industry looking to break into Chinese markets. This event’s organizers have teamed up with the Guangzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau (GDCIQ) to enable attendees to expedite clearance through customs in China for their products. Guangzhou is the leading port of trade and sale in China, with 70% of all produce imports and exports travelling through the province. The event hall holds over 500 exhibitors with the promise of networking opportunities with major industry leaders at the concurrent World Fruit Industry Conference 2020 event. Over 30,000 people are expected to attend. The speakers for this year’s event have not been announced yet, check back on their website for updates.

9. Farm Progress Show

Boone, Iowa, USA

September 1 - 3, 2020

Farm Progress Show

The Farm Progress show is the largest outdoor agricultural event in the USA and one of the largest in the world. With over 500 exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors, the images of last year’s show are impressive. The show draws all major agriculture equipment sellers. The large outdoor demonstration areas allow farmers a chance to see the equipment in use in a way that is rarely possible. While this show is open to the public, the scale and scope of the event makes it very useful for farmers to attend. 10. Agritechnica

Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany

November 14-  20, 2021

We know this event isn’t happening until 2021, but it’s so amazing we couldn’t leave it off our list. Agritechnica is the worlds must attend event for everything in agricultural technology. The latest in agriculture machinery and software is unveiled here. The program for 2021 has not been announced yet, but if last year was any indication, there will be many informative speakers and valuable networking events. 2019’s event saw almost 3000 exhibitors and 2021 is anticipated to be even larger. We can’t wait for this one - be sure to sign up as soon as registration for 2021 is open.
